Focused on assessing potential opportunities for developing the United States’ industrial hemp industry, the upcoming Industrial Hemp Summit is a partnership effort between Halifax County Agricultural Development Office (HCAD) and the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR). With attendees and experts from nine states and the District of Columbia, the summit will highlight current innovation in the industry, as well as explore solutions for resolving resource and infrastructure needs to move the industry forward.
Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Acting Commissioner Charles Green said, “The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) is proud to sponsor the Industrial Hemp Summit, the first summit of its kind in the Commonwealth. VDACS supports the growth of this dynamic industry in Virginia.”
The summit seeks to serve as a catalyst to help the hemp industry grow and create jobs and economic development in rural communities.
